Verizon has decided to sale the social media site Tumblr to Automattic for $3 million.
Verizon is taking an accepted lost since they purchased Tumblr for $1.1 billion back in 2013.

The CEO of Automattic Matt Mullenweg has referred to Tumblr as “just being fun” and that does do not plan to change much of anything about it. It will be interesting to see if they integrate Tumblr with WordPress somehow.
I believe the fall of Tumblr came when the company decided to ban adult content. The adult content was a major reason why a lot of users used the platform.
