Trump Bans Transgenders From Serving in the Military

Donald Trump has officially announced that the United States will not be allowed to serve in the military. The announcement was given in a series of tweets.

“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow……Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming…..victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you,” – President Trump via Twitter

The former Secretary of Defense Ash Carter during former President Obama time as president lifted this ban on allowing troops to openly come out as transgender.
The fact that this announcement came through tweets there is still unanswered questions the American people want to know.
What happens to transgender people that are currently in the military?
How significant is the medical cost to have transgender people in the military?
I have always been in support of the LGBTQ community getting their rights and equality across the board. This would be a clear discrimination against transgender people. If the military allows men and women, I am not sure I understand the reason to exclude transgenders altogether. I know they said the medical cost would be higher, but don’t women pay a little more for healthcare than men overall? I just think in order for to ban a group of people from joining the military. I would want my military to be filled with the best people no matter what gender or sexual orientation they are.

“Don’t think we should be discriminating against anyone. transgender people are people, and deserve the best we can do for them.” -Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah

Trump has managed to piss quite a few Republicans with this new policy.
