An investigation is taking place in Norway that is speculating that Tidal is inflating listening numbers to more than what they actually are. Norwegian Authorities believes the listening numbers of Kanye West and Beyonce were manipulated with.
Tidal’s lawyer has denied that the company is a suspect in this ongoing investigation.
“Tidal is not a suspect in the underlying investigation We are communicating with Økokrim. We are aware that at least one person we suspected of theft has been questioned.” – Fredrik Berg, Tidal’s Lawyer
Dagens Næringsliv’s investigation says that based on analyzing Tidals raw streaming data, data was manipulated at particular times.
