According to a video from Shinya Takahashi, the current development of Metroid Prime 4 has not reached the standard of the Metroid Prime series. The plans are to scrape the existing development of Metroid Prime 4 and restart the project entirely. This time Nintendo plans to collaborate with Retro Studios who are the creators of the Metroid Prime trilogy.

  1. Retro Studios has always been the developer of Prime games. I’m a bit confused as to why Metroid Prime 4’s development was handled by another developer company other than Retro when in fact it should have been their task in the beginning. Anyway, I’m happy that MP4 will surely become an amazing game even though it will take another long wait.

    1. I was a bit confused to, but apprantly nintendo had plans on moving forward with with the franchise without Retro. I also found out that Retro wasn’t even brought on as a consultant to the developing the game.
