BET+ Unveils “Lil Kev”: A New Animated Journey into Kevin Hart’s Childhood

Kevin Hart has a new adult animated series coming to BET+ titled “Lil Kev”. The childhood of Kevin Hart inspires the series.

“Lil Kev” is set against the backdrop of 1993 North Philadelphia, where viewers are introduced to a 12-year-old Kevin Hart, voiced by Hart himself. The series delves into the young Hart’s wild imagination and relentless optimism as they clash with the tough realities of his neighborhood. The narrative follows Kev navigating through adolescence with humor, hustle, and heart, surrounded by an ensemble of characters that would later shape his journey to comedy superstardom.

Joining Kevin Hart in this animated series is Wanda Sykes, who lends her voice to Kev’s hardworking mother, Nancy, an E.R. nurse juggling night shifts while trying to keep her son on the right path. Deon Cole voices Uncle Richard Jr., Nancy’s ex-con, muscular, and hustling younger brother, whose life advice often leads Kev into humorous predicaments. This dynamic trio, supported by additional casting announcements, forms the core of “Lil Kev,” promising a rich tapestry of voices and character development.

The series is slated to premiere in Spring 2025 exclusively on BET+.
