A.C. Moore Will Close All Stores

The arts and crafts

retailer A.C. Moore is planning to close all of the retail locations. A.C. Moore currently have a total of 145 locations across the United States.

The primary reason for the closures is struggling sales. It sounds like another retailing being consumed by the retail apocalypse or the Amazon effect.

“For over 30 years, our stores have been servicing the creative community with a vast selection of art and craft materials, with one common focus, the customer, unfortunately, given the headwinds facing many retailers in today’s environment, it made it very difficult for us to operate and compete on a national level.” – Anthony Piperno

There is no timeline on when the stores will close. It has been confirmed that 40 of the current A.C. Moore locations will be converted into Michael’s. Michael’s is the largest arts and craft retailer in North America.
