Apple Has Discontinued The iPod Shuffle and The iPod Nano

After a 12 year run, Apple will no longer produce the iPod shuffle and the iPod nano. I can’t lie I saw this coming down the pipeline. They may have held on to this two products for too long.
When Apple acquired Beats it was clear they wanted to get into the music streaming business. Shortly after here comes Apple Music. The iPod shuffle and Nano did not have the ability to access the Apple Music Streaming service.
However, this does mark the death of the iPod as we know it. I know the iPod touch is still available, but to me, that’s not an authentic iPod. The iPod touch is an iPhone without the ability to put a SIM card in it. The iPod classic was discontinued in 2014. Now that the shuffle and the nano are gone the idea of a premium stand-alone MP3 player is gone known as the iPod is gone.
Farwell,
