The Golden Globes To Introduce Best Podcast Category

The Golden Globes will introduce a Best Podcast category starting with the 83rd ceremony on January 11, 2026. This will mark the first time a major film and TV awards show honors podcasts.

The category will feature six nominees selected from the top 25 most-listened-to podcasts, based on their significant impact over the past year, celebrating both audio and visual formats. Eligibility criteria, including how the top 25 are determined, will be announced in the coming weeks. The move reflects the growing influence of podcasting, with global audiences projected to exceed 600 million in 2026.

I believe the first-ever Golden Globe podcast award is going straight to Joe Rogan. His podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” has been the top podcast for some years now, and it will be fitting for him to get the first Golden Globe podcast award.
