It was reported that Uber will be closing its Los Angeles office and laying off 80 employees. According to some of the former employees of Uber at the Los Angeles office, they were told that their jobs will go to people in Manila in the Philippines.
Despite Uber being the largest ride-sharing app in the world, the company has yet to turn a profit. Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, is determined to bring Uber to profitability by 2021 to 2022.
The laid-off Uber employees from the Los Angeles office will get a severance package for the untimely layoff.
