Trip.com CEO Jane Sun and chairman James Liang have decided to cut their salary to $0 for the month of March 2020.
The reason for cutting their salaries is to offset the lost the company losses from the coronavirus scare around the world. Upper management will also get their salary cut in half temporarily as well.
“Starting from this month, James and I will receive zero salary, and members of the senior management will take voluntary pay cuts, up to half of their salary” – Jane Sun Trip.Com CEO
I like that Trip.com is doing salary cuts instead of straight-up layoffs. The company is slated to report its earnings on March 18, 2020.
