Thurman Defeats Garcia in Split Decision

This was a fight I couldn’t wait to see. Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia I believe were at the top of the welterweight class since Floyd Mayweather decided to retire. The first round of the fight was action pack. I thought we were going to get another fight like Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman in 2016. The excitement cooled down considerably, especially in the last 2 rounds. I felt Keith Thurman felt he was so far in the lead that he gift wrapped the 11th and 12th round and gave them to Danny Garcia.
I thought Thurman controlled the fight for the most part. The split decision was a joke to me. Judge Kevin Morgan scored the fight, 115-113 Garcia. I don’t know what drug he was on while watching this fight, but Danny Garcia did not clearly win over 5 rounds. I was impressed with Danny Garcia defense after the first 3 rounds.
I turn my attention to what’s next for Keith Thurman? I don’t see anybody else as of right now for Thurman to fight at 147 lbs. Manny Pacquiao? Adrien Bronner? Danny Garcia rematch? I think it’s important that Thurman next fight is must-see TV.
