The Wells Fargo Center Renamed To Xfinity Mobile Arena

The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, home to the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers, has been renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena. The name change will go into effect officially on September 1, 2025.

The new name, announced by Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, reflects a partnership with Xfinity Mobile, a Comcast brand. New signage will be unveiled on September 2, 2025, with additional branding and enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities to follow. The naming rights deal runs through the 2030-31 season

This is the fifth name for the arena since it opened in 1996 as the CoreStates Center. Previous names include First Union Center (1998-2003) and Wachovia Center (2003-2010), driven by bank mergers. Comcast Spectacor, which owns the arena, plans to replace it with a new $1.3 billion privately financed arena by 2031, tentatively called “Spectrum II.”
