Hulu/ Hulu Live $7.99 to $39.99/Month
Hulu just lowered their monthly price to $5.99 just in time for Fall TV season. They also just launched their live TV service branded as Hulu Live which will cost you $39.99/month.
YouTube TV – $35/Month
YouTube TV sticks out to me from some of the other cable alternatives. You can make up to 5 other accounts, unlimited DVR storage. YouTube TV is great for sports lovers.
Crackle – Free
Crackle has some surprisingly good original shows. I have watched crackle for years and always find something good to watch. Even if old episodes “Married With Children”
Yahoo View – Free
Yahoo has teamed up with Hulu to create Yahoo View. Yahoo View is basically the free version of Hulu which Hulu is no longer offering under the Hulu brand. So if you don’t mind waiting a few days after the episode original air date, Yahoo View would be good for you.
Netflix – $10.99
Even though the price of Netflix is continuing to rise, Netflix has managed to be one of the best streaming services with original content.
PlayStation Vue – $39.99 – 74.99
Sony wanted to create the total entertainment experience with the PlayStation and out of nowhere, they announced PlayStation Vue. I know people who treat their PlayStation as not only their gaming console, but it is also their primary computer. PlayStation Vue has a ton of channels and a light price tag. You can also enjoy PlayStation Vue on other devices besides the PlayStation.
Sling TV – $20 – $40
Sling TV is one of the grandfathers of over the top internet tv options. I remember being super excited about the idea of being able to watch ESPN & ESPN 2 without having to pay for a full cable package. Sling has since then grown and added more channels and support.
Amazon Prime
Along with the perks of exclusive deals and free 2-day shipping. You also get a bundle of on-demand content to watch at your own leisure. $99 a year is really not a lot compared to $99+ cable a month. Amazon Prime is a real option if you really want to ditch cable.
DIRECTV NOW – $35 to $70/Month
DirecTV NOW can now be watched on just about any device. They are currently working on a DVR feature, but you have the ability to rewind a channel up to 72 hours. If I was to get the $70 dollar plan, I might as well continue to pay for regular cable.
Philo – $16 to $20/Month
Philo is not a popular option, but it is just as great if not better than some of the others. You can stream on up 3 devices at one time. $16 a month for 37 popular Viacom channels is a deal in my book.
Honorable mention
HD Antenna – $15 to $80 one-time purchase
If your one of those people who are fine with the bare minimum of your local and network television channels. You can’t go wrong with getting an HD antenna
