The HP Omen X Compact Desktop Is Wearable

HP is getting ready to release set to release the HP Omen X Compact Desktop this summer. The special thing about this desktop is it is designed to hit road with you when you leave home.

One of my biggest gripes with VR today is that it’s not ready yet. These mobile devices are not yet powerful enough to handle a premium VR environment. This Portable PC blows that idea away completely.

  • 16gb RAM
  • Core i7
  • 50Whr battery
  • GeForce GTX 1080 GPU(4k compatible)
  • 1TB PCIe SSD

The battery situation with this device I think is amazing. It comes with 4 batteries where you can have two batteries in the device while two are charging. The batteries are hot-swappable so you’re able to change the batteries without shutting down the device and rebooting. HP said you should get 90 minutes when playing most games. The total weight of the device is not accurate yet, but it is said to be under 10 pounds.
Is this the new wearable trend? I doubt it,  the base version of this device without special customization will set you back about $2500. You will also need to get an accessory to turn the PC into a backpack. That will set you back another $600.
