OFF SPORTS | Chris Paul May Have To Start The Season With OKC

Due to a lack of a trade market for Chris Paul

and his massive contract, it is rumored that the Oklahoma City Thunder are exploring the idea starting the season with him on the roster.
The problem is at this point in the NBA free agency, NBA teams have spent most if not all of their cap space. The Thunder are only interested in young players and first-round draft picks. Young players do not have big enough contracts to make the money equal or be close to equal to Chris Paul’s $38 million owed in 2019-2020 season.
Chris Paul representation and the Thunder are leaning toward starting the season with him on the team. They are hopeful that the trade market will open up around the trade deadline or even in the 2020 off-season.
