New York Mayor Calls Monkeypox State Of Emergency

New York Mayor Eric Adams has declared a monkeypox state of emergency in New York.

“This order will bolster our existing efforts to educate, vaccinate, test, and treat as many New Yorkers as possible and ensure a whole-of-government response to this outbreak” – Eric Adams, New York City Mayor

New York City has reported 1,472 monkeypox cases. Most of the cases are coming from men that identify as gay or bisexual.

The State of New York will receive 110,000 monkeypox vaccines and New York City will receive 80,000 of those vaccines.
