Negro Leagues Museum Gets A $1 Million Donation

The MLB

and the MLBPA made their second $1 million donation in celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Negro League.

“It commemorates baseball history, and it’s a tribute to African-American entrepreneurship in the culture that existed at the time” – Rob Manfred, MLB Commissioner

Some of the donated money will go towards renovating the YMCA building that will house the Buck O’Neil

Education and Research Center.

Every MLB team will wear a patch on their jersey on June 27 to honor the 100 year anniversary of the Negro League.
