Players will have to report to spring training on July 1, 2020. The season will likely start on July 24, 2020. Teams will play in their home ballpark instead of in hub city unless the spread of the coronavirus makes it necessary.

Both leagues will use the designated hitter in their lineups. To reduce travel teams will play their own division and the corresponding division in the opposite league. So the NL East will play NL East teams and AL East teams.
