Starting in July 2019, you will be able to return the thing you purchased on Amazon to any Kohl’s store.
“I think the returns initiative is one where we can really leverage each other’s strengths. I think one of the benefits of being in brick and mortar and having an online business is to accommodate easy returns,” – Michelle Gass Kohl’s CEO
Kohl’s has accepted Amazon returns at 100 of their location since 2017. It was sort of like a pilot program, but now every Kohl’s store will take their returns. Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass says 80% of Americans live within 10 miles of a Kohl’s location.
Kohl’s expects to benefit from this partnership with Amazon by getting people into their physical location and possibly buy something when they make a return. Sure, you have people that will use Kohl’s to return their Amazon products and leave. But you always will turn some of those Amazon return customers into shoppers.
