It has been reported that Kawhi wanted to be traded to the Lakers, and may have plans on joining the Lakers when he is a free agent in 2019. DeMar DeRozan is clearly not happy about this trade. He posted a cryptic message on his Instagram

DeRozan has three years and $83 million left on his contract, including an option to opt-out in the 2020-21 season.

The Raptors have the option to offer Kawhi more money than any other team next off-season. Kawhi could get $190 million and five years from Toronto and $141 million from any other team.
