Ingrid Yang Creates Yoga How-To Book For People With Disabilities

Physician Ingrid Yang in collaboration with physical therapist Kyle Fahey created a how-to book for people with disabilities to do yoga. The book is titled “Adaptive Yoga: Designed for a variety of bodies and conditions“.

The book has guidelines to perform yoga with 9 disabilities including Low back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, Spinal cord injury, Stroke, Cerebral palsy, Lower limb amputation, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple sclerosis.

“People with chronic medical conditions have an increased risk of depression and anxiety. Yoga is good at decreasing anxiety attacks and depressive responses. Yoga is a tool that’s not pharmaceutical. Using breath is important. When we deepen our breath, we can release frustration and let go”. – Ingrid Tang
