Russia freed WNBA star, Brittney Griner in a prisoner swap with the United States government. The prisoner exchange is for a high-level prisoner Russian arms dealer, Viktor Bout. Viktor Bout is known as the “Merchant of Death” for his arms dealing worldwide.
Griner was sentenced to 9 years in a Russian prison for drug possession. President Biden confirmed Brittney is on her way home on a plane and that she is safe.
