Amazon To Roll Out 30 Minute Deliveries Starting At $3.99

Amazon said same-day delivery is not fast enough. The logistics giant plans to roll out 30 Minute Deliveries starting at just $3.99. The ultra-fast delivery service is called “Amazon Now“. It will begin rolling out in select neighborhoods of Seattle and Philadelphia for Amazon Prime members.

Amazon Now integrates seamlessly into the existing Amazon app and website, allowing eligible customers to spot the “30-Minute Delivery” option right in the navigation bar. Once selected, shoppers can browse and order from thousands of high-demand items, including fresh groceries, diapers, pet food, cosmetics, electronics, over-the-counter medicines, and seasonal products. The goal? To make those last-minute “oh no, we’re out of” moments a thing of the past.

For Prime members, the entry fee is $3.99 per order, a steep discount compared to the $13.99 charged to non-Prime users. Orders under $15 also tack on a modest $1.99 small-basket fee to keep things economical. Amazon emphasizes that this isn’t just about speed; it’s about reliability. In early tests, some deliveries have clocked in as quickly as six minutes, though the standard promise hovers around the half-hour mark.

For now, Seattle and Philadelphia residents are the lucky guinea pigs. If you’re in one of those cities, fire up the Amazon app and hunt for that “30-Minute Delivery” tab. Our next impulse buy might arrive before you finish this article. As Amazon eyes broader rollout, one thing’s clear: In the race for retail dominance, every second counts. And at $3.99 a pop, Amazon is betting you’ll happily pay to save them.
