One of the judges scored the fight 115-113 in favor of Adrien Broner. The other two judges scored the fight 114-114. This would require the fight to scored as a majority draw.
Broner was clearly giving away some of those early rounds. When asked about it after the fight he referred to it as “warming up”. Many people on social media believe Broner outright lost the fight. I believe most of that energy comes from people not liking Adrien Broner as a person.
I scored the fight 115-113 just like one of the judges did. Overall I felt Broner landed much more power shots in the fight. I even thought if it wasn’t for the bell Broner was about to knock Vargas out.
