It looks like the Saints have made the first splash free agent signing this off-season. Peterson will get $7 million over two years with $3.5 million being guaranteed.
On paper, this looks like a bargain deal for one of the best running backs in the last decade. If Peterson can give them anything close to what is expected from Peterson at any given season, this is an upgrade for the Saints at the running back position.
This deal makes me wonder what the market was like for the 32-year-old running back. Assuming this was the best deal he was offered, what did teams like the Vikings and patriots offer him?
