It has been reported that Aaron Hernandez committed suicide in prison this morning according to the Department of Correction said. Hernandez was found hung in his cell at 3:05 in the morning. Hernandez was pronounced dead just 1 hour and 2 minutes later after being transported to the UMass Leominster. It is also reported that his family has been notified of these events.
“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population unit,” the statement said. “Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bedsheet that he attached to his cell window. Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.”
