Tyson Foods, one of the world’s largest food companies, has announced plans to remove high-fructose corn syrup, along with several other additives, from its branded products sold in the United States. This decision aligns with growing consumer demands for simpler, more natural food options and reflects broader industry shifts influenced by recent governmental pushes for healthier eating. This plan will take effect by the end of 2025.
Along with high-fructose corn syrup, sucralose (an artificial sweetener), BHA/BHT (preservatives), and titanium dioxide (a whitening agent) will be removed from Tyson’s products. The affected brands include household names such as Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Wright, State Fair, Aidells, ibp, and others.
Overall, consumer advocates and health experts view this as a positive step, though they urge continued scrutiny of food labels. As Tyson rolls out these changes, shoppers can expect to see updated packaging emphasizing the “cleaner” formulations by early 2026.
