NBC Interesting In New MLB Deal

NBC has made an offer to acquire ESPN’s expiring MLB media rights package. The package includes Sunday Night Baseball, the Home Run Derby, and Wild Card games.

The amount of money NBC has offered is undisclosed, but it is said to be at a lower cost than ESPN’s previous $550 million per season. This move would position NBC to have premium Sunday night sports programming year-round, complementing its NFL and upcoming NBA coverage.

NBC previously had MLB Sunday Leadoff package exclusivly onPeacock, which featured morning games.  The deal ended after the 2023 season due to cost concerns, with NBC paying $30 million per season. As of right now no final agreement has been confirmed yet.
