The San Fransisco 49ers have agreed with the New England Patriots to trade Jimmy Garoppolo. The Patriots will get the 49ers 2018 second-round draft pick. At the moment the 49ers second-round draft pick might be the 33rd or 34th overall draft pick.
This trade will not affect the 49ers season this year but it is something for them to build around. I am not one of those people who are high on Jimmy Garoppolo as a Quarterback. We have seen Tom Brady backups be looked at as a little overrated. Matt Cassel and Brian Hoyer come to mind as two of those overrated Tom Brady backups.
I am hopeful the Niners do find gold with Garoppolo. They looked awful all of the 2017 season.
