Thieves have made off with approximately 12 tons of KitKat chocolate bars, that’s a staggering 413,793 individual bars of Nestle’s iconic crispy wafer treat. The massive shipment vanished during transit across Europe, leaving authorities and chocolate lovers alike scratching their heads.
The truck, loaded with the company’s new chocolate range, departed from a production facility in central Italy bound for Poland. Somewhere along the route, the entire vehicle and its sweet cargo disappeared. As of the latest reports, neither the truck nor the chocolate has been recovered.
Nestlé, the Swiss food giant behind KitKat, issued a statement.

This wasn’t just any ordinary load of chocolate. The bars belonged to a fresh lineup, adding extra intrigue to the caper. Nestle has noted that the stolen products carry unique batch codes, making them traceable if they surface in unofficial markets or online resale channels. Police across Europe are investigating, but so far, the trail has gone as cold as a refrigerated chocolate bar.
As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: someone out there is sitting on a mountain of stolen KitKats. Whether they’re being resold discreetly, hoarded for personal indulgence, or perhaps even melted down for some nefarious purpose remains unknown.
