Oregon Governor, Kate Brown is absolutely opposed to sending National Guard troops to the Mexican borderKate Brown expressed her disdain for President Trumps decision to send troops to protect the Mexican border. The Oregon Governor flat-out said she will say no to President Trump if asked to send Oregon’s National Guard troops to the border.
If @realDonaldTrump asks me to deploy Oregon Guard troops to the Mexico border, I’ll say no. As Commander of Oregon’s Guard, I’m deeply troubled by Trump’s plan to militarize our border.

Kate went on to say via Twitter that she will not allow the President to use Oregon troops to distract from his issues in Washington.
There’s been no outreach by the President or federal officials, and I have no intention of allowing Oregon’s guard troops to be used to distract from his troubles in Washington.

Trump’s proclamation to send troops to the Mexican border is not a popular one, but I thought it was pretty bold of Governor Brown to publicly make those statements. President Trump has shown in the recent past that he has no problem with being petty. At least, for now, it looks like the President will not give Governor Kat Brown much of any attention.
