Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has expressed that he is open to talking to the United States.
Maduro still believes he is in power in Venezuela, but other countries including the United States acknowledge Juan Guaido as the president of Venezuela.
“If there’s respect between governments, no matter how big the United States is, and if there’s a dialogue, an exchange of truthful information, then be sure we can create a new type of relationship, a relationship of respect and dialogue brings a win-win situation. A confrontational relationship brings a lose-lose situation. That’s the formula.” – Nicolas Maduro
The United States openly feels that the only thing to talk to Nicolas Maduro about is him stepping down as president in Venezuela.
I would be absolutely shocked if Nicolas Maduro gets to talk with President Trump or any significant government official. I also do not expect Nicolas Maduro to step down as the president of Venezuela. As things stand right now, The relationship between Venezuela and the United States will get worse before it gets better.
