If someone is not being fired from the Trump administration, you will definitely have someone resign. Gary Cohn has decided to resign as Economic Adviser for president Trump.
Cohn was only in the economic adviser role for 14 months before resigning. It was noted that Gary was against the tariff that President Trump wants to put on aluminum and steel. Cohn released an official statement
“It has been an honor to serve my country and enact pro-growth economic policies to benefit the American people, in particular, the passage of historic tax reform I am grateful to the President for giving me this opportunity and wish him and the Administration great success in the future,” – Gary Cohn
President Donald Trump also releases a statement about Gary’s resignation just as he did with Hope Hicks.
“Gary has been my chief economic advisor and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again. He is a rare talent, and I thank him for his dedicated service to the American people.”- President Donald Trump
I personally think the tariff might be a bluff to get these other countries to cooperate with a different agenda that Trump has. But it was clear that Gary Cohn wanted no parts of this weather the tariff become active or not. I can’t say that I blame him.
