Drake is hands down the hottest artist in music right now. Drake dropped what he is calling a playlist instead of an album or mixtape March 18, 2017.
Drakes new project managed to be streamed 61.3 million times on Spotify in the day it was released. That broke a Spotify record formerly held by Ed Sheeran with over 56 million. Drake also broke another Spotify record being the first artist to have 76 million streams overall in one day. Over the weekend Drake also surpassed the 10 billion stream mark overall on Spotify which is more than any other artist.
When this news broke, I thought about the alleged diss toward Drake from Jay-Z when he said: “I know you ain’t out here talking numbers, right?” on DJ Khaled’s Shining.
I feel like Drake might be the only rapper that can really talk numbers right now.
