Scientists at Colossal Biosciences have successfully brought back the dire wolf using gene editing technology. The dire wolf was an extinct canine that roamed North America roughly 250,000 to 10,000 years ago during the Pleistocene epoch.
They’ve birthed three pups, Romulus, Remus, and Khaleesi using gene-editing tech on gray wolf DNA to mimic dire wolf traits. The pups were born via surrogate dogs.
