Druski Reportedly Set To Host SNL, Becoming The First Pure Digital Creator In The Host Chair

Internet comedian and cultural force Druski is reportedly lined up to host Saturday Night Live on November 7, according to a report from industry veteran Matthew Belloni at Puck. If confirmed, the booking would mark a genuine milestone: the first time the long-running NBC sketch institution has handed the host role to a pure-play digital creator whose career was built almost entirely through viral short-form sketches on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Why This Booking Matters for SNL

Saturday Night Live has long recruited talent from the internet. Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island arrived from YouTube in 2005; more recently, the writing and performing group Please Don’t Destroy came up through digital work. Hosts such as Nate Bargatze and Shane Gillis have carried huge online audiences into Studio 8H, but they were established stand-up comedians who already dominated live touring before getting the call.

Druski represents something different, a comedian whose primary platform has always been short-form digital sketches rather than the traditional club or theater circuit. Belloni noted that if the episode goes well, it could open the door for more pure digital creators to host.

As of this writing, NBC and SNL have not officially confirmed the booking, and the November 7 episode remains listed as TBD on public schedules. Still, the report has been widely picked up, and Druski’s proven ability to command large live audiences, demonstrated at the BET Awards, where he brought his signature characters and chaos to the stage, makes the idea of him hosting SNL feel like a natural next step rather than a stretch.

For a generation that grew up on his Instagram Lives and character skits, the possibility of seeing those same instincts translated into the structured, high-pressure environment of Saturday Night Live is already generating significant interest. Whether he leans into familiar characters, creates new ones, or simply brings his unfiltered energy to the monologue and sketches remains to be seen, but the booking itself signals a clear shift in how traditional comedy institutions view digital-native talent.
