McDonald’s Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Tyson Foods and other meat processing companies, for allegedly conspiring for years to limit beef supplies, boosting their profits while causing the fast food giant to pay artificially higher prices.
According to the complaint, McDonald’s has experienced significant disruptions to its operations due to Tyson’s failure to fulfill its contractual obligations to provide a consistent and reliable supply of meat. The shortages have led to menu item shortages, longer wait times, and customer dissatisfaction.
McDonald’s claims that Tyson’s actions have caused the fast-food giant to incur substantial losses, including lost sales, increased operational costs, and damage to its reputation. The lawsuit alleges that Tyson’s negligence in managing its chicken supply chain and production facilities contributed to the shortages.
Tyson Foods has not yet issued a public statement in response to the lawsuit. However, a spokesperson for the company indicated that they are aware of the complaint and are reviewing it.
