Derek Chauvin Sentenced To 21 Years For Death Of George Floyd

Former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to an additional 21 years on federal charges for the death of George Floyd. Derek Chauvinwas already sentenced to 22 1/2 years on state murder and manslaughter charges.

“I really don’t know why you did what you did, but kneeling on someone until they expire is simply wrong, and for that, you will be punished,” – Paul Magnuson, U.S. District Judge

Derek Chauvin will serve his new sentence concurrently with his state sentence. This will give him a total of 43 1/2 years in prison.
