Rihanna was inside her upscale Beverly Hills-area home when a woman opened fire with an assault-style rifle on Sunday afternoon, Los Angeles police said. No one was injured, and authorities quickly arrested a 30-year-old female suspect.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to reports of gunfire around 1:15–1:21 p.m. at the singer’s residence in the Beverly Crest neighborhood. The suspect drove up in a white Tesla, parked across the street from the property’s gate, and fired multiple rounds, reports indicate, between seven and at least ten shots, from inside her vehicle.

Bullet holes were found in the mansion’s gate and in an RV parked in the driveway. At least one round penetrated a wall of the colonial-style home, according to law enforcement sources. An AR-15-style rifle and shell casings were later recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive but was spotted by an LAPD helicopter and arrested without incident about 30 minutes later in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks. She was described as having her hair in braids and wearing a cream-colored blouse. Her identity has not been released, and the motive remains unknown. The LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division is investigating.
