President Donald Trump announced a few weeks back that he was pulling US military forces out of Syria and bring them home. It turns out that the United States military is back in Syria.
The primary reason for the United States forces being back in Syria is to protect oil fields from ISIS. There is an estimated 500 soldiers on the eastern border of Syria currently. The pentagon strongly believes that the United States Military needs to keep ISIS from possibly taking over these oil fields.
How long US forces will spend in Syria is undetermined at this time.
