The U.S. Education Department To Give Puerto Rico $589 Million

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos made the announcement that Puerto Rico will be getting $589 million for aid following the results of Hurricane Maria

“As communities get back on their feet in disaster-affected regions, we continue to support them in every way we can, this additional funding will ensure students, teachers and staff have ongoing access to the services they need to fully recover and rebuild.” – Betsy DeVos.

The funding is intended to help Puerto Rico get their schools back to some form of normalcy. The devastation of the Hurricane Maria caused Puerto Rico to close 250+ schools. The funding is a start to an ongoing process rebuild the island of Puerto Rico. Try Amazon Music Unlimited Free Trial
