Somalia has officially declared a National Emergency over a large swarm of locust in the area.

The general public in Somalia is are afraid the locust will consume the countries vegetation. Somalia already has very limited resources when it comes to food. The UN has already called for international help for the East African region.

The population of locust in Somalia has increased significantly due to a lot of rainfall at the end of 2019 in the area.

An immediate response to the region’s locust problem would be to insert birds and reptiles that are natural predators of the locust.
