After a nearly 20-year hiatus, SlamBall is coming back. The high-octane sport, which combines elements of basketball, trampolines, and gymnastics, will be relaunched in July 2023.

SlamBall was originally created in 1999 by Mason Gordon. The first season of the SlamBall league aired on ESPN 2 in 2002. The league gained a lot of popularity with the fans, who were drawn to the sport’s high-flying action.

SlamBall went on to air for two more seasons on ESPN 2, but the league folded in 2008. However, the sport’s popularity never waned, and there has been a growing demand for its return.

The new SlamBall league will be backed by some big-money investors, NBA player Blake Griffin, Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils co-owner David Adelman, and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin. The league will feature a six-week regular season and one week of playoffs.
