March 4, 2000, was the PlayStation 2 was introduced in Japan for the first time. It wasn’t until later in 2000 that the PS2 made in the United States.
The PlayStation 2 is still the best selling console in gaming history selling 155 million consoles worldwide. Due to the popularity, Sony didn’t stop producing the PlayStation 2 until 2013. Sony’s PS2 console was competing with the Nintendo Gamecube, Sega Dreamcast, and Microsoft’s Xbox.
It took 6 years for Sony to deliver the PS2’s successor, The Playstation 3.
