It has been reported that Pope Francis has passed away at the age of 88. He was at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta when he died.
Earlier this year, Pope Francis was in the hospital for 35+ days for double pneumonia. He also had chronic issues with his lungs.
Pope Francis is expected to be buried at the ancient Basilica of St. Mary Major, which lies outside the Vatican walls. A conclave will soon begin to elect the new leader of the Catholic Church.
