Paramount+ is officially reviving one of the most memorable characters from the iconic ’90s sitcom Martin: Varnell Hill. The long-awaited spinoff, The Varnell Hill Show, will premiere globally on September 1, 2026, marking the return of Tommy Davidson’s fan‑favorite talk‑show host, and yes, Martin Lawrence himself will make guest appearances.

Varnell Hill, originally introduced during a standout guest arc on Martin, is stepping back into the spotlight in a brand-new half-hour workplace comedy. Tommy Davidson reprises the role, bringing back the character’s signature energy, ego, and comedic flair. The series is executive produced by Martin Lawrence and Bentley Kyle Evans, both of whom helped shape the original sitcom’s legacy.

The first season will consist of eight episodes, premiering with two episodes on September 1, followed by one new episode every Tuesday through October 13, 2026.

The Varnell Hill Show follows Varnell as he chases late-night TV glory while navigating network politics, personal ambition, and the chaos of producing a talk show. Expect behind‑the‑scenes antics, sharp comedy, and the same over-the-top personality that made Varnell Hill a standout character in the original series.

Paramount+ has released first-look photos showcasing the cast, the updated set, and the comedic tone of the series, signaling a modern revival that still honors its ’90s roots.
