After 5 seasons of Jada Pinkett’s hosted talk show “Red Table Talk”, Meta has decided to cancel the show.
Meta seems to be moving towards virtual reality-based content. The Head of Development and Programming at Meta, Mina Lefevre first revealed that the company will begin scaling down on original content for Facebook Watch.
Westbrook Studios, Pinkett Smith’s production company with her husband Will Smith, is currently looking for a new distributor for the show going forward.
Meta could have continued to produce “Red Table Talk” and offer a VR view of the show. “Red Table Talk” was a popular talk show with tremendous upside. I believe ultimately I believe it will be Meta’s loss for losing a good show and a grade addition for a new company.
