Furniture retailer IKEA has acquired tech start-up Task Rabbit. The amount of money for acquisition has not been disclosed to the public. Task Rabbit is a gig service where people get Task Rabbit workers to do a task in exchange for money. In other words, you get to pay people to do shit you really don’t want to do. Task Rabbit workers do anything between move heavy things from one place to another to doing yard work. I believe IKEA interest in Task Rabbit is furniture assembly. How amazing would it be to buy furniture from IKEA and get a deal on getting it assembled for you?Assembling furniture is literally the worst part about buying furniture. It will be interesting to see how IKEA will implement Task Rabbit into their retail business. Google Play Newsstand Apple News Flipboard
