After the fatal shootings that took place in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, President hopeful Elizabeth Warren has unveiled a plan for gun control. Warren’s gun control plan involves significantly raise the taxes on firearm and ammunition sales. She also listed a few things she wants to change the current process of buying a gun. - Require background checks for gun purchasers who buy at gun shows or online
- Apply the 18-and-up age restriction on gun purchases to more sales
- Create a federal licensing system for the purchase of any type of gun or ammunition
- Boost the excise tax on handguns to 30% from 10% and on ammunition to 50% from 11%
