Amazon plans to lay off an estimated 10,000 employees in corporate and technology positions. It has been reported that the total number of employees laid off is fluid and could change.
The news of the layoffs led to AMZN stock to drop by 2%.
If the company follows through with the layoffs it will lose 3% of its corporate workforce. This will be the largest corporate downsize in Amazon’s history.
